Four allegedly Killed As South-Eastern Security Outfit, 'Ebubeagu' Invades Ebonyi Community

Four persons have been reportedly killed after operatives of the South-Eastern security outfit, Ebubeagu invaded a community in Ebonyi State.

The incident was said to have occurred in the Amasiri community of Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state over the weekend. It was gathered that members of the outfit, who stormed the community in five vehicles, shot at some youths on the allegation that they sealed off a Lebanese quarry company (Conrock) which was located in Amasiri.

Eyewitnesses said the operatives arrived when the youths had gathered at the community square to share money which had been given to them by the management of the quarry company after they had unsealed it.

The operatives were said to have shot at the youths for arguing with them over the sealing of the company, killing four persons and injuring others in the process.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Ebonyi State Command, DSP Loveth Odah said the details surrounding the shooting were yet to be disclosed to the command.

Recall that Ebubeagu was created by the governors in the Southeast to help combat the growing menace of insecurity plaguing the region.
