A 21-years-old young man identified as Timiondu Jephtath has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by Bayelsa High court.
The young man, Timiondu Jephtath was allegedly said to have raped a Five years old girl to death in 2016 when he was just 16 years old. The presiding judge in charge of the case, Justice E.G Omokuro declared that charge has become manslaughter since the prosecution could not provide any intent of murder.
The presiding Judge ordered that the defendant be kept at Okada Correctional Centre in Yenagoa or elsewhere as determined by the Governor for a period of 10 years.
