Ten Major Highways In Lagos You Are Not Expected To Use As A Motorcylist Or Tricyclist

The Lagos state government has continued to bring out policies to ensure the safety of all Lagosians in Lagos state. Motorcycles and tricycles have become two of the major ways many Lagos residents move from one part of Lagos to another. Sadly, there have been issues as regard to these two modes of transport.

The first issue is insecurity. Many criminals make use of motorcycles and tricycles to commit criminal offences like stealing in Lagos. Motorcycles, especially, make it easier for these criminals to escape from the crime scenes. The second issue is safety. Motorcycle accidents are one of the highest in Lagos state. Reckless riders are becoming too many in the state, and some of the roads where they often get involved in terrible road accidents include some major highways in Lagos state.

In response to this, the Lagos state government decided to ban these motorcycles from using the highways listed below.

1. Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

2. Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

3. Oworonshoki-Oshodi Expressway.

4. Lagos-Ikorodu Expressway.

5. Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

6. Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway.

7. Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

8. Funsho Williams Avenue.

9. Agege Motor Road.

10. Eti-Osa Lekki Coastal Road.

You are advised to keep off these highways if you ride a motorcycle or tricycle. The Lagos State Police Task Force is always on the look-out for any violators of these rules.
