The member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House Of Assembly, Honourable (Barr) Esse Gerald Umoh has appealed to youths of Essien Udim to take active part in ensuring security in the area.
The lawmaker gave this charge during his meeting with all the PDP youth leaders from the area on Monday, 10th May, 2021.
While addressing the youths, the lawmaker decried the rampant increased in criminality, Vandalization of security facilities and attacking of security personnels in the area in the past few months. He called for the youths to be vigilant and conscious and to report any suspicious faces or actions to appropriate authorities as fast as possible.
Barrister Umoh said that Essien Udim is the only local government area they can call theirs, hence, all hands must be on deck to protect it.
"We must not allow unpatriotic strangers to invade our land destroy all our valuable public and private properties which we laboured strenuously to build over the years. This situation requires us to be more vigilant and smarter especially with vital and useful information..." ,the lawmaker said.
Honourable Umoh also admonished the youths to continue to hold form the core values of the People Democratic Party and also stay tuned to the completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel's administration.
He also expressed his willingness and commitment to support initiatives and creative ideas that are capable of increasing productivity and creating wealth for the people.
