4 Nigerian Celebrities Who Admitted That They Almost Committed Suicide In The Past

Due to the unpredictable nature of life, it's no surprise that many people around the world have attempted and actually committed suicide. And this is no different for Nigerians as lots of people even Celebrities have actually attempted suicide in the past. However, they overcame that phase of their lives and today they are doing ok.

1. Toke Makinwa:

In her book titled 'on becoming', Toke Makinwa recounted how she almost committed suicide due to her marital issues. The television host and entrepreneur admitted that during the time she was having issues in her relationship she had the thought of committing suicide. She recalled that at the time, she was sitting in her bedroom when a thought came to her that she should just drink the Dettol in the bathroom and die.

2. Julius Agwu:

During a past interview with inspaya TV, the popular Nigerian Comedian, Julius Agwu admitted that he almost committed suicide in the past. The 48-year-old revealed that during the time he had a brain tumor, he wanted to commit suicide to an extent that he had already started putting things in place for his wife.

3. John Okafor:

During a rare visit to the big brother Naija house, Nollywood veteran, John Okafor recalled how he nearly committed suicide when things weren't going well for him. He admitted that he was on the verge of jumping into a well when he suddenly recalled his mother's face and changed his mind.

4. Tonto Dikeh:

Last but not least is Tonto Dikeh. In an Instagram post which she made many years ago, the actress revealed that she almost committed suicide if not for the intervention of Tee Billz and Don Jazzy who came to her rescue.
