Over 100 people killed by Gunmen in Benue

Information from Daily Trust reports the over 100 innocent lives was wasted between Saturday and Sunday in Benue State as gunmen attacked four different communities.

According to the source, the gunmen invaded four council wards of Kastina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State on Saturday afternoon and started shooting sporadically.

The gunmen suspected to be armed herders and ‘Gana boys’ burnt down several houses during the attack. This was confirmed by the Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA, Alfred Atera, He said that over 100 people died in the attack on the four council wards which are Mbayongo, Yooyo, Utange and Mbatyula/Mberev.

Residents block Abuja-Kaduna highway to protest insecurity

People living in Gauraka Community in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State have taken to the Abuja - Kaduna Highway to protest the incessant killings and kidnapping in the community.

Movement of vehicles in the highway was hindered this morning as the protesters consisting of mainly youths blocked the highway to demand that the state and Federal Government put more effort to stop the killing and kidnapping in the area.

They called on government to boost the security in the highway and the area so as to stop the continuous killings and attacks.
