Heavily armed bandits have stormed Abuja one communities once again on Tuesday morning, and have reportedly abducted about four people as they were engaged in a gun fight with police officers.
During the course of the gun duel of the bandits and police officers, a police officer sustained gunshot wounds. The gun battle and the abduction of four persons, took place in Tunga-maje community, Gwagwalada Area council, Abuja.
According to a report by Daily Trust, the bandits engaged the community's vigilante group and police officers in a gun fight that lasted for more than one hour.
According to reports from an eye witness, the armed bandits also stormed a poultry farm in Tunga-maje axis and after overpowering police officers, they kidnapped two persons.
The injured police officer is currently recovering treatment in an undisclosed hospital as at the time of submitting this report.
The recent activities of bandits in Abuja have put fear in the mind of people living in the area.
