A sad development report from Sahara Reporters has disclosed how bandits who recently kidnapped Jennifer Awashima an aspiring member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on her way to her orientation camp in Kebbi State have threatened to kill her or marry her off if her family refuses to pay a ransom of N3,000,000 (Three million naira) demanded by the assailants.

The development report has it that Jennifer was intercepted and abducted in Zamfara on her way to Kebbi State where her orientation camp was located. Consequently, in the light of the unfortunate development which now seems to be the order of the day, my question is; What's next now that these bandits have issued threats of what they would do to her should their demands be ignored?

In my own opinion, I believe this is the time when this young lady would need the intervention of the NYSC body the most in terms of making plans on how she would regain her freedom from her captors, because it would be considered unfair if her parents were to raise such amount of money alone without any external support.
Thus, I expect the NYSC body to come to the rescue of the young lady who only hopes for nothing but to serve her country, even if it entails them engaging these bandits in a dialogue as such gesture wouldn't be the first of its kind since they (bandits) even agreed to collect a ransom.
