IBEDC: No light, no pay, Gbongan residents insist

The people of Gbongan, a town located under Ayedaade local government of Osun state are reported to have decide to go on 'No light, No pay' campaign to drive their complaints to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) which is responsible for the distribution of light in the area.

The residents condemn the continuous epileptic power supply to the area over many years inspire of the huge amount of money being given to them as bills. 

They complain that many of the transformers in the area are old while most of the few new ones remain unconnected and have remained abandoned despite the large amount of money contributed and paid by the residence to hasten the connection of the transformers.

They further added that many areas with light in the vicinity are bedeviled with some a bad quality of light that cannot drive electronics to work.

One bill distribution agent of the distribution company of the area who ask not to be named, said plans are being put in place by the agency to put an end to the problem and bring such incidences under control. He therefore urged the residence to bear with the agency for little time more for all their grievances to be attended to.

The residents therefore call on the government and the agencies involved to find long and lasting solution to the menace.
