A woman who was identified as Fatima Aliyu was reportedly beaten and burnt by her Co-wife a few weeks after her wedding.
Fatima Aliyu was reportedly beaten by her husband's first wife, Amina Aliyu. After Amina Aliyu beat her Co-wife, Fatima Aliyu up, she locked her in a room and set up the room on fire.
According to Daily Trust Reports, the incident happened in Minna, the capital city of Niger state, on Tuesday. It was gathered that Fatima resided in Kaduna state and after her wedding, she relocated to Niger state to live with her husband.
A family source who spoke about the misunderstanding between Fatima and her Co-wife, Amina, said that the two wives were not living together. On that faithful day, Amina left her house to Fatima's house to cause havoc which unfortunately led to her beating and burning Fatima to death.
The Niger state police command has confirmed the incident. According to the Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, the incident was reported on Tuesday by one Bello Lawal.
