Kuregu community came under attack on Friday around 10:pm, according to reports.
A resident of Kuregu community, who pleaded anonymity, told Daily Trust, confirmed the death of the two persons killed.
According to the source, bandits came asking for the houses of wealthy individuals in the community but came in contact with the victims and shot them before abducting an Islamic studies teacher in the community.
It would be recalled that a lecturer at the Department of Agriculture, Abubakar Tafawa University, Bauchi, known as Professor Aliyu Mohammed, was kidnapped around the Kuregu community on January 19, 2021, and a ransom was paid he regained his freedom.
The Northwest has been battling with banditry over the months and efforts to put an end to this has not yielded any positive result.
