Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested 12 suspected cultists for the death of a young man identified as Ifeanyi Umuedi. Mohammed Ari Ali, the Commissioner of Police paraded the suspects at the Police headquarters on Tuesday, 17 August 2021. Ali identified 3 of the suspects as Nnamdi Okocha, Bright Ushiagwu, and Chiedu Ewuzie.
The Commissioner of Police said: "On the 14/8/2021 at about 2045hrs, a combined team comprising of all tactical squads, Ogwashi-uku patrol teams and vigilante raided Agidiese Qtrs where twelve suspected cultists were arrested."
Ali also stated that they have been on the run after they murdered the deceased in July 2021 at Ogbeofu Quarters in Ogwashi Uku.
Three of the suspects are still under investigation and the remaining nine have been charged to court. One of the suspects, Onyinaya is said to be a famous auto thief who was once apprehended in November 2010 and prosecuted in Anambra state.
