The lack of a license plate made the car suspicious; after searching and questioning the driver, he admitted that he works at a car wash in Festac Town, Lagos State and that he was given the car to wash while the owner went to a barbers shop.
He was on his way to the Benin Republic when the DPO and his men stopped him.
According to preliminary investigations, the car owner reported the incident to Festac Town police station, which has been on the lookout for the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has requested that an investigation into the suspect's previous activities be undertaken until he is handed over to the Lagos State Police Command for prosecution.
