Three die in Lagos-Ibadan expressway accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State on Saturday confirmed that three persons lost their lives in a lone accident around Four Square Gate on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, that the accident happened at about 6.50 a.m.

Umar explained that the crash involved three males in a Mitsubishi Canter with registration number LAR 116XN.

Former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, today reported to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and is currently being grilled by a team of operatives at the Commission’s headquarters Abuja over allegations of abuse of office, diversion of public funds and fraudulent allocation of government properties to cronies.

Kwankwaso, who is also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, was first invited by the EFCC in September but failed to honour the invitation.

APC holds two congresses in Abia

Kaduna ‘ll determine those qualified to preach: El-Rufai

Kaduna Governor Nasir El-rufai Friday said the state will work with Interfaith Preaching Regulatory Council to determine those qualified to preach in the state, lamenting that religion has been weaponised to divide and cause hate among Nigerians.

“I want to assure members of this Council that the Kaduna State Government will do everything it can to support you to do your job and help our state, to determine those that are qualified by education and training to preach without causing any problems for our people and our communities,” Mr El-rufai said.

Abiodun, Amosun hold parallel congresses in Ogun amidst violence

The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State on Saturday held paralleled congresses amidst violence.

Loyalists of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun and his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun converged on two separate venues in Abeokuta and held paralleled congresses which produced two executives of the state.

While Abiodun and his loyalists held their congress at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, Amosun’s loyalists held theirs at the Ake Palace ground, Abeokuta.

The two factions embraced consensus arrangement which was ratified by voice votes from the delegates at the congress.
