Banditry and kidnapping have become the talk of the town, especially in the Northern parts of Nigeria. The high rates of banditry have instilled fear in the hearts of people and have made people lose hope in the government.
According to recent reports by Dailypost, unknown gunmen recently attacked a secondary school in the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State and abducted an unspecified number of students. It was reported that the incident happened on Wednesday morning when the gunmen attacked the school promises.
This is not the first time nor the second time bandits have attacked a school and, according to my research, within 2 months, 3 schools in Zamfara State have been attacked by unknown gunmen. Today, I would like to suggest 3 ways the Zamfara Governor, Bello Mattawalle, can use to rescue the students who were abducted on September 1.
1. It is believed that the unknown gunmen hide in forests, and in this way, the governor should disperse soldiers and police into the bush and instruct them to stay in hidden places to watch out for the unknown gunmen.
2. The governor should provide a ransom for the kidnapped students to be freed. This is the easiest way the government can ensure the safety of students.
3. The government should declare a state of emergency to ensure the safety of other people.
What other ways can you suggest for the freedom of the kidnapped students in Zamfara?
