Police Officer who Killed George Floyd Sentenced to 22 Years Imprisonment.

The long awaited verdict on George Floyd's case has finally come to an end as the court has finally made its verdict on the matter.

You would that Minneapolis Police Officer known as Derek Chauvin was convicted on three charges; second degree unintentional murder, third degree murder and second degree manslaughter over the death of Mr George Floyd who died in his hand on May 30th 2020.

Announcing his sentence, the Judge said the sentence was based solely on legal facts and not on emotions or sympathy or on public opinion.

The prosecutor had earlier asked for Derek to bag at least 30 years Imprisonment while the defendant's team asked that he got a probation or a lighter sentence.

The verdict will bring peace of mind to the family of the deceased and further serve as a deterrent to police officers who do not obey rule of conduct while on duties.
