A 31 woman, Aminat Balogun has been arrested by the Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, Ijebu Ode for giving out her 11months old child to be used by beggars for begging alms.
The Ogun State Police Command while confirming the arrest stated through it's Public Relations Officer, Adeyemi Fasheun, that the Police received report of people going about with borrowed kids to beg for alms
The suspect confessed " I decided to rent out my child to be used by beggars because I needed money, each time they come back home, they pay me 1000 - 1500 naira
The husband of the arrested suspect, Sunday Balogun, disclosed that he still can't believe it his wife would do such " I'm still in shock, I'm so devastated right now, only a heartless woman would do such to her child, I would appreciate the law takes it's full course.
Adeyemi further stated that the culprits will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
