Residents of some Commuinities in one of the Eighteen(18) Local Government Areas of Cross River State, Bekwarra have converted the Electricity cables in their Commuinities into dryers for their clothes due to lack of electricity for almost one decade.
According to reports and reactions on social media, it is normal for the Commuinities in the local government Area to be without light.
One Freedom Iripia in a poetic post on Facebook which has now generated dozens of reactions said he couldn't stop crying when he saw electric cables connected to transformers being used by his brothers and sisters as a means of drying their clothes after washing.
Bekwarra is a Local Government in Cross River state under the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency and is represented by Rt.Hon Legor Idagbo who is a two term member of the Nigeria House of Representatives, also, this is the Federal Constituency where the sitting governor of the state, Prof. Ben Ayade as well as the Minister of state, Power, Prince Jeddy Agba hails. Hon. Legor Idagbo is a former local government of Bekwarra as well as a former Commissioner in the state.
With many promises, the local government remains in the dark after several failed attempts by the indigenes and residents of the area.
