PHOTOS: Sad Story Of Poor Widow From Akwa Ibom Whose House Was Pulled Down By Wind

When I was young in my nursery school days, there was a song we used to sing In class whenever it was time for our lunch. I can still remember the song. "Some have food but cannot eat, some can eat but have no food, we have food and we can eat, glory be to God amen". That was the song.

In life some people have built many houses which they have never entered the house and slept in it. Some build so many houses that they will never enter some of the rooms in the building. Yet others do not have any house, I mean any room, but they wish they could have one to lay their head.

The sad Story of this widow from Akwa Ibom State is similar to this reality of life. Mrs Mary Effiong Akpan is a poor widow from Ikot Akpa Village, Asutan 2 in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She has been homeless for four years now since her house was pulled down by wind and heavy rainfall.

An eyewitness narrated that this incidence happened four years ago since following the heavy rain fall that introduced a serious wind blowing towards the direction of her manageable hut which was being supported by some wooden materials. The wind blew and pulled down the widow's hut.

Ever since this horrible incidence occurred, the woman is said to be crawling into the shattered hut as an animal, to get shelter. Presently, the woman's life is at risk. She is at danger of being affected by wild and crawling animals. She has been exposed to cold and wetness of the environment.

A concerned neighbor (good samaritan) who narrated the past experience of the poor widow called on the state government and other top political leaders and representatives from the area to come to the rescue of the helpless widow.
