EFCC arrests 26 internet fraud suspects in Delta

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday arrested 26 internet fraud suspects in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, in a statement said the operation was carried out after a verified intelligence.

The suspects are Ezeabia Lucy, Ossai Chioma, Okoh Ekene, Okoduwa Bright, Jefferey Nwabunike, Egonu Ikechukwu, Onwudiachi Martins, Ofili Junior, Ejimofor Celestine.

Over 6000 delegates for PDP convention

Over 6,000 delegates will converge in Abuja to elect a new National Working Committee, NWC in October this year, Governor of Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state disclosed this in Abuja yesterday.

Fintiri, who chairs the national convention organizing committee stated this at the party’s secretariat, Abuja, Thursday, shortly after inaugurating 15 sub convention committees at a ceremony attended by top party functionaries and Governors Nyesom Wike, Duoye Diri and Seyi Makinde of Rivers, Bayelsa and Oyo states respectively.

FG, States, LGs share N696.9bn in August

The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N696.965 billion as federation allocation for August.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Mr Oshundun Olajide, Deputy Director (Information), Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.

The statement noted that the meeting of the committee was held virtually on Wednesday.

25 bandits kidnapped Kaduna Baptist students, say suspects, blame desperation

Operatives of the Police Special Tactical Squad have arrested three of the suspected abductors of students of the Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State.

The suspects, Adamu Bello, Isiaku Lawal and Muazu Abubakar, who were paraded by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba, in Abuja on Thursday, were part of the 25 gang members who kidnapped 126 students from the school on July 5.

About 100 of the victims have so far been freed by their abductors.

Mba revealed that the suspects played active roles in the kidnap of the students, adding that “we have generated sufficient intelligence, and we are closing in on the others.”
