Three villages were razed by fire in Kiyawa Local Government Area (LGA) in Jigawa State.
The fire reportedly consumed houses, livestock, farm produce and other valuables in Malamawar Dangoli, Karangi, and Kwalele villages of Kiyawa LGA.

Uzodinma Sacks Labour Commissioner

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has fired the Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Ford Ozumba.
The Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, in a statement on Saturday, said the sacking was with immediate effect.

The Zamfara police command has dislodged a bandits’ camp and rescue 14 kidnapped victims in Zamfara, who had spent 68 days in captivity.

Desist From Libelous Allegations Against Yakubu, INEC Tells PDP

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to desist from making libelous allegations against its Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.
The Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, gave the advice on Friday in Abuja, while responding to PDP’s demand on Mr Yakubu to resign from his position.
Oyebanji Urges Ekiti Residents To Accept Old Notes

Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji has appealed to residents to continue to accept the old and new notes in line with the ruling of the Supreme Court which extended the validity of the old naira notes till December 23, 2023.
The Supreme Court in its March 3 ruling extended the validity date for the old naira notes in a case instituted by some States against the Federal Government with Ekiti State one of them.
