A man identified as Tyokaa in Makurdi has cried out over the shooting of his baby's right hand. The incident happened early this month. The police division attached to their community came to the area to attack some hoodlums. It was at this point that his wife was returning home from her work. The police started shooting sporadically in the air and she tried to take cover when this was going on. It was unknown to her that before she took to cover, a stray bullet had already hit the baby's right hand.
She took the baby home and the husband carried the baby to the commissioner of police. They bandaged the hand and took the baby to the hospital. The doctor told them to look for two hundred thousand for the surgery. The man called the CP and explained to him. The CP spoke with the doctor and explained everything to him. Still, the doctor demanded the money if the operation would be carried out. The CP had no choice but to pay for the money.
It is just recently that the father of the baby is complaining that the police neglected them. The father said ever since the police had paid for the surgery, they haven't done anything. They didn't remember them and they have left them in poverty. Punch metro spoke with the police and they denied the allegations. They said they are presently investigating the case so they'll know who shot the bullet.
