Before now buying of sim card and also sim registration has been on hold since December 2020, this order was made by the FG to ensure that all network subscribers enroll for their National identity card in other to get their NIN.
Many who misplaced their phones or got their phones stolen and couldn't retrieve their line find it difficult to cope with this ban on sim card but it should be noted that there patient was not in vain as the FG plans to resume sim card registration activities.
The minister of communication and digital economy have confirm that sim card registration will commence as from April 19th. Irrespective of the ban that has been lifted on sim card registration, registration for NIN should not be neglected as one cannot register his or her new sim card without a national identity number.
