...Commend Wisdom Class, Reiterate Governor's Effort in Youth Development
The SA submitted during a round-table consultation with him on Wednesday 5th, 2021 by the executive of Wisdom Class Organization and the Special Monitoring Mission of the International Human Rights Commission Niger Delta in Delta, emphasizing that combined efforts are needed to combating drug abuse.
He maintained that young people are increasingly addicted to substance abuse thus bringing personal adversities to their lives and careers.
Recall that Delta State University (Delsu) under the leadership of Prof. Andy Ogochukwu Egwenyenga has approved the implementation of the Drug Education and Rehabilitation Project in Delsu. The flagship of the Project comes up on 18th May 2021 at the University 500 Capacity auditorium.
The Project was conceived by Wisdom Class Organization to advocate drug education, provide credible assistance in changing the negative narrative, and shaping a normative culture of safety, moderation, and informed decision-making for young people and adults on licit and illicit drugs.
Wisdom Class Organization is a leading Youth- based organization domiciled in Delsu championing drug abuse campaigns, suicide prevention, youth mentorship, and advancing behavioral change of young people.
Chief Gbagi further commended Wisdom Class Organization and reaffirmed Government's effort on Youth Development, adding that a drug-free society is attainable.
