Scam Alert: If You Are A Nigerian And Have A Bank Account, Take Note Of This Important Advice
Alot of scam activities are going on online and even offline these days. Scammers no longer need you BVN, Phone Number, OTP or even Bank Details to rob you of your hard earned money.
The issue of fake alert and transfers is becoming the order of the day and business men and women are mostly victims to this.
A scenario where a young good looking man, woman, guy or lady walks into your boutique, store or supermarket to purchase items and offers to pay through bank transfer. He or she asks for your bank account number and in some cases your phone number. The next thing that happens is that he or she shows you a debit alert on their phone and pretends to be in a hurry so he won't be caught.
While some do not ask for your phone number, others would ask for it and that way, you would get a credit alert on your phone.
In most cases, you may not know you have been scammed until you check your account balance and notice that there was no changes to the actual balance there.
Some of these criminals don't use the goods they purchase from you, they sell them out at cheaper rates and use the money.
My simple advice to you is this, if you have a bank account and have no bank app on your phone or your bank USSD code in use, then try setting up one. This will help you check your balance as soon as you receive any alert on your phone to ascertain of it is real or fake.
Always check your account balance after every successful transaction from your customer.
If someone walks up to you in a public place or elsewhere and asks you for cash in exchange for a bank transfer, always endeavor to check your balance before giving out the money to the person.
These scammers are not out for only Business men and women, they can scam even a pedestrian who falls gullible to their tricks.
