Imo Jailbreak: 107 Fleeing Inmates Return Out Of 1,844 Fugitives —Prison Service
The Nigerian Correctional Service has stated that the number of fleeing inmates who escaped from the Owerri facility but have now either returned or been arrested is 107, as it expects more returns.
The NCS National Public Relations Officer, Francis Enobore, confirmed this to SaharaReporters on Monday, noting that the service believed that with the release of the fleeing inmates’ photographs and bio-data, more inmates would return.

Three suspected kidnappers arrested on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three members of a kidnap syndicate, who have been terrorizing commuters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The suspects Nathaniel Jacob, 24, from Nasarawa State; Isah Danladi, 22, from Kogi State; and Abubakar Rabiu, 23, from Niger State; were arrested on Thursday, at Fidiwo area along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Monday in a statement.
Governor Ortom Apologizes To Army
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has apologized to the families of the 11 soldiers and one officer killed while on official duty in Bonta Village, Konshisha Local Government Area of the state. The Governor while speaking on Monday during the burial of the soldiers at the military cemetery close to Wurukwum roundabout in Makurdi promised that the killers would be fished out and dealt with according to the law. Ortom added that the soldiers paid the supreme price to keep others safe and their sacrifice must not be allowed to be in vain.
Over 150 Thugs Invaded My Hotel – Fayose
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has raised the alarm that armed men numbering more than 150 have invaded the hotel where he lodged. Media to the former governor, Lere Olayinka, made this known in a statement made available to Naija News on Monday. Fayose alleged that the political thugs numbering more than 150 surrounded the hotel as delegates from Oyo State are being accredited for the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Congress.
Five Vigilantes Killed, Others Injured As Bandits Attack Niger Market
Armed bandits have attacked a local market at Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State on Monday. Naija News learned that five men of the vigilantes’ group were reportedly killed while many residents were injured while commercial activities were going on at the community market. Also, the bandits were said to have attacked some communities such as Beri, Beri-Kago, Gatawi, Kini, Bida, and other adjoining villages in the Manta District of the local government.
