However, the once peaceful town is now a den of criminals despite the heavy presence of the military. Drug abuse is a norm in so many areas across the metropolis. In this article, we shall be featuring 5 neighbourhoods where miscreants abuse drugs in the full glare of the public.
(1) Black Street.
The black street is located off school road in Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna metropolis. Hard drugs such as cocaine, crack, and so on are openly abused here. Snatching of valuables is also rampant among junkies who visit this place.
Despite the constant raid by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, drug abuse still strive in this neighbourhood.
(2) Warri Street.
This area is located in the City centre of the metropolis. It houses lots of hoodlums who specialise in the sale of hard drugs like Rohypnol, Codeine, Ecstacy and so on.
Street fights are also very common in this neighbourhood despite its central location.
(3) Kanti Aga.
This area is located close to St Peter's Catholic Church, Sabon Tasha Kaduna. It houses all sorts of miscreants who troop en mass to abuse drugs. The sales of marijuana, Arizona and other hard drugs are very common here.
When passing this area the stench of marijuana smoke can suffocate you. In the past, various non-governmental organisations have tried to rehabilitate drug addicts in this area.
This area is also located in the city centre and comprises of Maiduguri road, Foccados street, and Oyo street. Various drug cartels happen in this neighbourhood. Until early this year, the area was also a den of commercial s*x workers.

Despite the closeness of this area to the Magajin Gari Police Station, drug dealers still carry out their business without fear.
(5) Neco Bustop, Mando.
This area is located along airport road close to the NDA permanent site and the Federal College of Agricultural mechanisation. Recall how the aforementioned institutions were attacked by bandits recently.
Military personnel and hoodlums usually patronise this spot. Though the buildings in this area were recently demolished by Gov El-Rufai, drug sales still strive here, especially at night.
Security operatives should take note of the aforementioned places and do the needful in eradicating them of drug dealers and abusers, as it is a breeding ground of criminals.
