In life, we all know that all fingers are not equal when it comes to finances, making some individuals to go into illegal and fishy things just to make money. Well if you are a banker and you have something fishy, or your assets is more than your salary, then this message from EFCC is for you. According to the statement posted by EFCC on their verified Twitter handle, it was made known that:
EFCC Gives Bankers Ultimatum on Asset Declaration (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) EFCC, has said that it expects all operators in the Nigerian financial system especially bankers to declare their assets latest June 1. The statement was made by the EFCC boss Abdulrashed Bawa, in Abuja while speaking with Journalist.
And it was made known that the action was to curb Cybercrime, money laundering etc. And it was also made known that if found guilty ie you assets is more than what you earn, the person will be convicted and face 10 years imprisonment and all his/her excess assets forfeited to the federal government.
So on seeing the above mentioned and what the EFCC boss said, if you know you have something fishy or your assets is more than what you earn, resign now or better still submit yourself to the law. That is why crime is never a solution to any problem. Imagine spending 10 years behind bar and your assets forfeited to the government. So what is the need of committing the crime in the first place?
On seeing what the EFCC boss said, what do you think?
