Armed Robbers have attacked the Christ Apostolic Church in Ogun State, Ewekoro Local government area.
It was said that, the hoodlums reportedly beat up several members who were worshipping in the church as the robbed them.
The hoodlums also abducted one of the church members before escaping into the bush under the cover of darkness.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, a police spokesman comfirmed the attaked and said that, the hoodlums attaked the church during a vigil on Friday night.
According to the police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, he told the nation that the abducted woman has been rescued safely, naming the suspected robbers as Abubakar Ibrahim, Sulaiman Yusuf, Ismail Yusuf, Umar Aliu and Yinusa Musa.
He made it clear that the suspects were arrested and after Obisesan Seye, pastor of the church put a call across to the police, saying that his church was under attack by 6 men armed with dangerous gadgets.
Abimbola Oyeyemi said that, the police attached to Ewekoro Division enter the forest and fish out the five members of the suspected gang and arrested them. The last suspect was said to be on the run.
Abimbola Oyeyemi said that, the victims of the attack have identified the five suspects as their attackers.
He also said that, Cutlass, two cudgels and assorted charms we're the items recovered from them, narrating that they will all be transferred to the State Criminal Investigating and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigations.
