Ten People Suspected to be kidnappers have been arrested in Achigili in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State by the Vigilante Group and Joint Taskforce.
The arrest which was carried out at early hours of today (1am of 15th February, 2021, ) followed a tipped off by the Okehi Local Government Council Professional Hunters on the activities of the suspected Kidnappers across the forest of the two Local Government Areas .
Briefing the newsmen at the Ofu Local Government Chairman's Hon Ibrahim Amodu, said the arrest was done by the Vigilante group of Ofu Local Government in synergy with the Okehi Professional Hunters from Okehi Local Government Area to keep the State and the Local Government safe.
He listed items recovered to include One Dane Gun, 10 Cartridges, 10 mobile phones, Vigilante Uniform, a Pen, 10 I-D Cards, one Torchlight and 5 locally made rings, which were handed over to the Police.
Hon. Amodu assured the people of the Local Government that he will continue to work round the clock with the security operatives to ensure a safe society for all.
He equally sounded a note of warning to all criminals and intending culprit to desist from crime or have him to contend with in the Local Government.
Kidnapping activities have been on the increase in the recent past in the state despite concerted efforts by the State Government to tame in security .
