When it comes to development, various parts of the Country have been displaying increased levels of development and hence these developments can be seen manifesting in the nature of infrastructure like modern buildings, Highways, Modern shopping malls etc which are constructed.
While most of these infrastructural innovations and other development projects are spearheaded by the Government and its agencies, other projects are handled and undertaken by private individuals.
Today, we shall be talking about the tallest building in the south east region of Nigeria.
The tallest building in south east Nigeria is clearly not a residential building or a hotel. Instead the building is a medical facility owned and operated by one of the indigenes of the community who is a medical doctor as well as a businessman and philanthropist.
The building which currently holds the title as the Tallest building in the south east stands at 15 stories high and it is owned by Dr Godwin Maduka. Back In 1997, after his graduation, Maduka moved to Las Vegas, a city in Nevada, United States and got a job at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, a medical hospital where he was paid $8,000 as his monthly salary payment.
He worked as an anesthesiologist in the hospital and other subsequent hospitals he worked with before starting his own practice at Red Rock Medical Group, Nevada.
In 1999, he founded the Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center, before founding six more hospitals in different locations in Southern Nevada.
He is a clinical faculty supervisor and adjunct professor of pain management and anesthesiology at Touro University Nevada. He is also a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Las Vegas School of Medicine.
