Full Video: Students & residents scamper for safety as unknown gunmen fire shots in Imo State

It's no longer news that insecurity, banditry among others have been a serious issues in Nigeria most especially, the Southeastern region.

In a recent report, unknown gunmen invaded the capital city of Imo State (Owerri), and shot sporadically in different areas of the city leaving road users and residents on the run as many persons including students of the state, scampered for safety.

A viral video of the incident as gathered by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), showed that students of the school were sent back home and were seen among people scampering for safety, it also showed the main gate of the Imo State University being locked because of the incident.

Some of areas affected by the incident include:

• First Bus Stop Irete, Owerri West LGA, around Douglas and Wethral roads,

• The Akwakuma axis and Control post junction.

The reason for the attack which reportedly occurred today, 4th October, 2021, is yet to be revealed. This calls for a serious action by the state and federal government, to tackle this issues of insecurity as many citizens are in great pain and fear.
