Policeman Returns N1.2 Million To Accident Victim’s Family In Kano

A Sergeant identified as Kabiru Isah, has returned N1.2 million which was recovered from an accident scene to the relatives of the deceased in Kano State according to Independent Newspaper.

The Kano State police spokesman, ASP Abdullahi Haruna, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Kano.

Mr Haruna disclosed that the policeman attached to the command’s Motor Traffic Division saw the money while conducting analysis at an accident scene on the Kano-Zaria road.

He explained that a speeding vehicle had knocked down a motorcycle rider, who died immediately. At the time the incident took place, it was learnt that the victim was in possession of the money packed in a box.

He further explained that the Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko, handed over the money to the relatives of the deceased and called on police personnel and residents of the state to emulate Mr Isah’s good deed.

Mr Haruna disclosed that the Managing Director, Kano Road Traffic Agency, Baffa Dan-Agundi gave Isah N100,000 as reward for his honesty and dedication to duty.
