In a news that was published by Linda Ikeji Blog this evening, it has been alleged that the men of Ogun State Police Command have successfully apprehended a robbery suspect and his accomplice, after they planned to rob a microfinance bank of the sum of N3m.

Information that was given concerning the incident made it known that one of staffers in the microfinance bank, Olagoke Dare, contacted Idowu Tunde, to rob him and another female staff of the money they went to withdraw at a commercial bank at Oke-Ilewo area of Abeokuta and due to their plans, Olagoke had already opened their car door for Idowu to enter, as he (Idowu) sat down at the backseat and after Olagoke and his female colleague, whose name was given as Mary Agbejo, finished withdrawing the money, they entered inside their car, as Idowu all of a sudden, brought out his gun and pointed it at them.

How Mary Agbejo Risked Her Life And Confronted The Thief...

While the Idowu was still pointing the gun at them, Mary carefully observed and discovered that the gun he was pointing was a fake gun and due to that, he dragged the gun from the thief's hands and started shouting to call people's attention, as Idowu tried to run away but, he was chased by mob, caught and handed over to police operatives for investigation.

Taking a look at the brave decision that Mary made, a lot of people, including men would not have risked to take such decision, due to fear of been injured or attacked, even if they should know that the gun is fake.

One thing we should learn from this is that, whenever similar event happens around us, we should carefully observe the kind of weapon the attacker is holding and also observe, if he is someone we can overpower or not and take a good decision from your observation.

Had it been the thief was successful, Olagoke and Mary would probably be in police detention by now for investigation, as the two of them might be instructed to be paying the amount stolen from their monthly salary.

Note: do not confront an armed person, if you're not sure of the weapon he is holding for your own safety.
