House Caretaker kills student over rent
Anthony Chinweotito Emmanuel, a student of Nekede polytechnic has allegedly been murdered by his Caretaker over issues of non payment of house rent.
According to reports, Emmanuel, a year one student of the department of Building Technology died after he was hit in the stomach area with a plank of wood last week Tuesday but gave up the ghost on Saturday night.
I will not negotiate with bandits – El-Rufai counters Sheikh Gumi
The Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai has called on the Federal Government to give states air and ground forces to fight against criminality in the state.
The Governor said his government will not recognise any reconciliatory moves by the criminals in the state. Speaking with BBC Hausa service, he said, "If the Federal Government does not give us the air and ground forces, these forests are invaded and these terrorists are killed at the same time, then we will continue to be in trouble"
Governor El-Rufai's statement is coming few days after a Kaduna-based cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi said that kidnappers and bandits should be given amnesty as a remedy to the insecurity in the region.
Presidency first to defend herdsmen when they kill people —Odumakin
Yinka Odumakin, the Spokeman of the pan-Yoruba social-political group, Afenifere has slammed the presidency that it is always the first to defend armed Fulani herders when they kill innocent citizens.
Odumakin also condemned some northern leaders for not speaking against the alleged killings by the Fulani herders.
