Anambra Police Rescue 4 Pregnant Girls From Baby Factory In Nnewi

Four young pregnant girls have been rescued from a suspected baby factory, known as ‘Cool Joint bar’, Nnewi, by officers of the Anambra State Police Command.

According to a press statement issued by CSP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, the police discovered the baby factory/brothel where teenage girls are kept, impregnated and upon delivery, their babies are sold to waiting customers.

However, the four pregnant girls rescued are as follows: Chisom Okoye, 20, Chinecherem Clement, 18, Blessing Ogbonna, 21, and Blessing Njoku, 21. Interestingly, all the rescued victims are from Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State.

The Police Command has identified the owner of the brothel, one Gladys Nworie Ikegwuonu, of Ohaozora LGA of Ebonyi State, as the principal suspect. All efforts have been intensified to bring her and her accomplices to justice.

Gladys Nworie Ikegwuonu, who is currently at large, is also on the police wanted list for other suspected kidnapping activities committed in Nnewi, Anambra State.
