
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has launched 500 units of First and Last Mile (FLM) buses and 100 high and medium capacity buses for standard routes in the state.
According to Channels Tv. , the FLM buses will serve 286 identified routes within Lagos communities as an alternative to addressing the menace and security threat constituted by Okada riders in the state.
He said the FLM buses are safe and convenient as commuters will be able to use Cowry Travel Cards , an automated payment system already in used for BRT buses In Lagos State .
According to the Governor, the FLM bus corridors have been delinated into eight zones : 1 - Ikeja and Ketu , 2 - Oshidi , Mushin and Surulere , 3 - Berger , Yaba and Oyinbo , 4 - Lagos Island, Ajah and Ibeju Kekki, 5 - Iyana-Ipaja and Agege , 6 - Mile 2 , Iyana Iba and Ajeromi , 7-Ikoroodu and Epe , and zone 8 - Badagry .
The Governor said further that the FLM buses will be increased to 509 in coming days.
