Three Shot Including Petrol Station Attendant As Cultists Clash In Sagamu LGA

According to DAILY POST,a terror gang of youths alleged to be members of a secret cult confraternity spread chaos and wrecked havoc in Sagamu, precisely the administrative center of Sagamu Local Government LGA in Ogun state,whereby three victims passed away after being murdered in an horrific manner.


Following the information acquired by local news reporters, on Tuesday 2nd May 2023, the above-mentioned youths who are affiliated with the Eiye and Aiye confraternities restarted their heated rivalry for dominance against one another while wielding sophisticated weapons especially guns which they used against one another.

However,on Saturday,6th May 2023, it was reported that three people had been killed by gunfire in the renewed altercation in Sagamu, which left many businessmen and women no choice but to close their stores and shops in targeted region within the Local Government Area LGA as they fled helter skelter for safety.


When contacted,the surviving residents of the attack explained that,many others are presently in one hospital or the other after sustaining serious bodily damages after the incident,which caused sleepless nights for most inhabitants of the community as they could sleep with their two eyes close during the tragic incident that lasted for days.

Furthermore, credible findings by local news reporters unveiled that,one of the deceased person was an employee at an Awabat filling station in Ijokun who was sent to his grave on Friday night,5th May 2023,adding that the deceased,who was only recognized as Matey,got hit by bullets fired by the suspected cult members on the head, which killed him right on the spot.


“We don’t know if he was a cultist, we don’t know what happened. We just saw that he was shot dead by cultists. He’s a petrol attendant at Awabat in Ijokun", a married woman who doesn't want her identity revealed to the general public lamented.


In the meantime,the Superintendent of Police,SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who serves as the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Ogun State Police Command, verified the occurrence saying that,the unfortunate event led to the gruesome deaths of three persons including a petrol station attendant,while assuring that the police have apprehended some suspects after a distress call was received about the attack.


“Yes, three persons were killed in Sagamu by cultists. But we have arrested many of them. The Commissioner of Police has directed our tactical teams to be on standby. We have started trailing those involved and many are in custody. We are clamping in on them, more will still be arrested", the police correspondent affirmed.
