Lufuno Mavhungu is a 15 years old school girl who is believed to have committed suicide after she was brutally assaulted by a fellow student on Monday. The incident was caught on tape at her Mbilwi High School Limpopo. In d clip, the late victim is clearly seen been assaulted by a fellow learner while others cheer on in the background. It is understood that the grade 10 pupil locked herself up in her room in d evening following the assault and overdose on prescription pills. Her mother found her unconscious, rushed her to the hospital but she was later confirmed dead.
In the video which went viral on social media on Tuesday, the victim is seen being confronted by two other girls. One of them signals the other to move while she gets closer to her to slap her countless times. The victim graps the pupil who is assaulting her in an attempt to block the blows.
Other pupils can be heard in the background cheering the alleged perpetrator, who is also in grade 10.
The victimized pupil is reported to have since passed away. However, the cause of death is unknown. The school department is awaiting a formal report on the cause from the relevant authorities.
