An army corporal serving in Maiduguri has out of depression, committed suicide by shooting himself to death in the head.
One of his colleague serving with 212 Battalion ,Maiduguri, has said that "The young soldier mut have killed himself as a result of depression"
The incident reportedly happened on Saturday when the deceased soldier's body was found lying dead next to his gun with a deadly severe bullet wound in his head .
His colleague also said in a text message "Cpl Kila Jima from 152 Battalion,Banking on 10-4-2021 just carried his personal rifle and shot himself dead in the head .
It was said that the soldier has shown some sign of depression before he eventually shot himself dead .
According to his colleague,"He was among the soldiers involved in counterinsurgency campaigns who have shown a lack of interest in the job because of depressive disorder .
The army authorities in Borneo State are still yet to make clarification and proper investigation on the matter .
