According to a sad incident that happened two weeks ago, it was made known that the founder of Hausa Christian Foundation, Reverend Yohanna Shuaibu was brutally murdered in Massu Village, a village in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State.

Information given concerning the untimely death of the pastor made it known that, some days ago, a man in the community gave his life to Christ, as the reverend was the one who converted him and some days after the new convert became a christian, he got engaged in an argument with his brother's wife and during the fracas, he killed her in the process, as the suspect later handed himself over to police operatives.

But, irate mob in the community were not satisfied with the incident and due to that, they went after the man of God, slaughtered him, burnt down his church, house and missionary school, which were built in the area, as his family members were able to escape from the attack.

After the reverend's death, a lot of people including the Christian Association of Nigeria, demanded that his killers should be arrested and prosecuted, while most people that reacted to his death claimed that, his killers won't be arrested because, he was a christian and also because, he was killed because he converted someone from another religion to Christian, as thus, influential people from the other religion won't make the deceased get justice.

However, according to a news that was posted by Punch Newspaper this morning, it has been alleged that the men of Kano State Police Command have successfully apprehended seven suspects, who were linked to the deceased's death and that, the convert, who killed his brother's wife is also in their custody, as they further said that, investigation is still going on to arrest other suspects who were connected to the murder.

With this recent development, one can see that the Nigeria's Police is not biased about the incident, due to the fact that they have arrested some suspects in connection with the murder and there's tendency that they will all be charged to court for prosecution, when investigation is concluded.

Lessons To Learn From The Incident...

As Nigerians, we should always tolerate each other because, we are regarded as one, irrespective of our religions, regions or tribes, as this is the only way peace and fairness will reign and also, we should always avoid taking laws into our own hands because, jungle justice is against the Nigeria's Constitution due to the fact that, a lot of innocent people have been killed, a recent case is the case of Reverend Yohanna Shuaibu, who was killed for the offence he knew nothing about.
