Nine bandits were reportedly killed during a gun fight involving a rival gang in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
A national daily, Daily Post, reports that a notorious bandit leader known as ‘Godon Mota’ stormed the village and engaged bandits led by his rival in a fierce gunfight. When the heat died down, nine of the criminals lay dead.
Daily Post quotes Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, as comfirming the report and divulging that the fight according to sources revolved around a disagreement over sharing of accumulated ransoms, during which one of the groups felt cheated.
He quoted the State acting Governor Dr Hadiza Balarabe as welcoming the report and describing it as God's intervention. He also urged security agents to sustain the onslaught against criminals in the general area.
