The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal and Six others have been re-arraigned by the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today for the alleged fraudulent of N544m grass cutting contract.
The defendants pleaded not guilty when the amended 10 counts of fraudulent were read to them at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, jabi, Abuja before justice Charles Agbaza.
Followed the demise of the former trail judge, Justice Jude Okeke the re-arraigned was the second time since the case started.
Offem Uket, the prosecutor open his case on the March, 18 last year when he said that he amended the ten counts, bordering on fraud diversion of the over N544m and criminal conspiracy.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges on today, the defence lawyers pleaded with the judge to allow their clients to continue to enjoy the bail already granted them by the former judge
