“I earn N50,000 per operation” – robbery reveals secret

Segun Oye, 18, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for engaging in an armed robbery in Lagos State on Friday, October 15.

Oye was nabbed alongside another teenager identified as Ikechukwu Ubani, 19, as they tried to flee the crime scene.

In his confessional statement to the NPF, Oye disclosed that he had in the past partook in armed robbery by riding the robbers on his motorcycle to and fro the target point.

“He has taken three guys from Ibadan to Ajah and Ikate to rob in traffic and snatch mobile phones both at night and early in the morning,” the NPF said on Monday, adding that, “his contract fee was N50,000.”

Oye, who was sentenced by Lagos State Mobile Court on Friday to 1-year imprisonment along with his colleague, disclosed that, apart from Ikechukwu Ubani, he is being regularly contracted by traffic robbers to ferry them to scenes of robbery and to safety after the operation.
