Pastors on evangelical mission should stop travelling in vehicles with church/mosque names and symbols -Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has advised men of God in Nigeria on the best way to avoid being Kidnapped by kidnappers. According to Senator Shehu Sani, considering the recent rise in the incidences of kidnap of people on pastoral or evangelical mission along Nigerian roads, it is not advisable to travel or move around in vehicles carrying the inscription of their churches, mosques or any other religious establishment.

Senator Shehu Sani offered this advise to evangelist and men of God who engages in evangelism because of the rise in cases of kidnappers targeting church members who are traveling on roads to their various areas of evangelism. In the opinion of Senator Shehu Sani, it would be best if travellers try as much as possible to stop traveling in vehicles that has the logos of their different religious groups.

Senator Shehu Sani noted that such symbols and logos attract unnecessary attention from kidnappers. Kidnappers Target these evangelists because they believe that their various religious establishments will be willing to pay ransom for the release of the kidnapped persons. Senator Shehu Sani's logic is based on the premise that if Kidnappers don't see religious logos and symbols on the vehicles used by church workers who are going on pastoral mission, then it would be difficult to see them as potential targets.

Although Senator Shehu Sani's advise dose not solve the problem of kidnapping, but it will go a long way in reducing situations whereby kidnappers kidnap pastors, evangelists and other religious workers who are on evangelical missions.

Below is Senator Shehu Sani's tweet.
