One of the few people who reacted to this information was Shehu Sani, who took to his official Facebook handle to reveal that the incident took place despite the heavy presence of the Army, police, and other outfits in the state, adding that the life of the poor citizens has become so cheap especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.
While sharing on his official Facebook handle, the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, Shehu Sani said, "The massacre of over forty innocent people in Sokoto by terrorists despite the heavy presence of the army, the police, and other outfits in the state, and despite the shutdown of telecom in the state is tragic, sad, unfortunate, and condemnable. The life of the poor has become so cheap in Northern Nigeria, and the government has failed in its constitutional responsibility to defend and protect the lives of our people. History and posterity will not be kind to those who choose the path of silence out of fear or expectation of favor from those in power while the blood of the people are shed every day. Nowhere in the world are people so slaughtered in mass scale like this part of the country. When people live at the mercy of terrorists, there's a vacuum in leadership. My condolences to the people, and the government of Sokoto State over this tragedy".

This is sad news, and if u ask me, I would say that it is time for the federal government to ensure that those behind this act are brought to justice, and made to face the consequences.
