Traders Count Losses As Fire Inferno Razes Shops to Ashes in Akure

We all need fire for many good things, like cooking, warming our bodies, burning rubbish etc.But our prayer is that; may we never see the other side of fire.The havock it wrecks on lives and properties or treasures are indelible bruises in one's life.

It was a rude shock to everyone at the early hours of today, that some shops at Oke - Ogba Off Agagu- Road in Akure Ondo State were wrecked to ashes by fire inferno.

Properties and goods worth of millions have been destroyed by the fire incident.

Some traders wept, wailed and others were dejected as a result of the fire inferno.Many of these traders expressed their sadness and hopelessness in life as all their lives investment have been lost to the fire inferno.

They are now pleading to the Ondo State government for financial and material intervention and any other areas possible.

One of the people residing in the area narrated how the fire started gradually and the Ondo State Fire extinguisher department was called but there was no response from them, on his own opinion he said probably there was no fuel, faulty engine or fear of insecurity as at the hour they were called.The fire inferno was reported to have started around 4a.m. Little could only be achieved as the fire got out of hands and consumed not less than five shops newly stocked with goods like food stuff, clothing materials, fridges, freezers, electronics and lot more worth of millions.
