Yazid Surajo is a young Nigerian with the "Lagos dream."

He is actually a masters degree holder in Development studies from Bayero University in Kano and a Bachelor's degree in History from Umar Musa Yar'Adua University.

He doesn't do any form of white collar business.

He is a Scavenger in Lagos who pushes Trucks around and looking to buy cheap scrap materials from residents all around the state.

While telling his story on Facebook, Surajo wrote, "It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees. I had rather be dirty and satisfied than be clean and hungry. Thanks to a country where intellectuals are misused."

Narrating his ordeal while putting himself through school as a result of the death of his father who was a Police officer in 2010,Yazid recalled that it took the police authorities 3 years to finally release his father's entitlements.

He said the family was given N3.5 million naira, which was half of what was actually meant to be given to them.

As regarding the Scavenging business, he says he currently worked under a "master" who gives himself and colleagues money to go in search of scraps and buy and bargained prices of which they eventually return at end of day to report back to him and get settled their wages for the day's work.

Narrating what he plans to do with access to funds, he said he is to modernize the scavenging business, get a registered company and actually run it more professionally.
