The Governor Of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, is someone that's against paying ransom to Bandits. So many times, he has spoken against giving Ransom to Bandits. According to him, he said that giving Ransom to Bandits will encourage them to do more. And when others know that, Bandits are being paid money, it will encourage others to join Banditry. Even before some of the 39 students regained freedom, El Rufai said he wasn't going to pay any ransom to Bandits.
Yesterday, the Governor also spoke against Paying ransom to Bandits, and this time around, he said that even if his own son were to be Kidnapped by Bandits, he would still not pay any Ransom to the Bandits. And That is to show how serious he is, with not paying Bandits. Hours after he made that Statement, his wife, Hadiza El Rufai, reacted to the statement that he husband said. Hadiza El Rufai reacted to a cartoon of her husband making the statement.
Hadiza in her reaction, was also in support of the decision her husband took. She said that, Not paying ransom is the most effective way of ending the menace of Kidnapping. But we are human and also emotional. She concluded by saying that, may God Protect us all. Here is the screenshot of her tweet
For el Rufai, paying Bandits will not end Banditry, but not paying them will end it. What's your view about it, do you think that they will keep to their words if their children eventually gets Kidnapped?
