The North Is Still One Of The Safest Place For Igbos To Do Their Businesses- Ohanaeze Ndigbo

The Ohaneze Nidgbo is the highest or apex cultural group in Nigeria saddled with the responsibility of protecting the interests of all the Igbos living in Nigeria and the world at large. This Igbo group have been accused by many as being political and not truly representing the interest of an average Igboman. Reason being their long silence during the killer Fulanis herdsmen saga that swept like wild fire across most Eastern states. Most Igbos couldn't fathom while an Igbo group of such magnitude and rank will keep such long silence when her people are being killed, raped, butchered and kidnapped.

The Igbo apex social cultural group came out few hours ago to describe the Northern Nigeria as one of the safest places for Igbos to live in and do their trades. The chairman of the group in the nineteen Northern states, Augustine Amaechi in Abuja stated that the Northern region has accommodated the Igbos beyond measures, while saying that this kind gesture accounted for their extreme prosperity.

Amaechi went further to state that the call for secession in the South East was as a result of lack of jobs and unemployment in the region. He categorically stated that the Igbos are basically traders and they need the North to maintain their financial strength. What do you make of this claim from Ohanaeze Ndigbo? Let me hear from you in the comment box below.
